21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

 Day 1: The Lord’s Prayer | January 6

Scripture Reading | Matthew 6:9-13 (ESV)

"Pray then like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’"

Scriptural Prayer

Praise and Worship
Heavenly Father, we enter Your presence with thanksgiving and praise. You are holy, sovereign, and faithful, and we exalt Your name above all else. You are the Creator of heaven and earth, yet You invite us to call You “Father.” Your love for us is beyond measure, and Your faithfulness is unending. We worship You for Your majesty and for the grace You extend to us daily. You alone are worthy of all glory and honor, and we lift up Your name with reverence and awe.

Praying God’s Will
Lord, we surrender to Your divine will today. Let Your kingdom reign in every aspect of our lives—our thoughts, actions, and decisions. May Your purposes be accomplished on earth as they are in heaven. Align our hearts with Your perfect plan, and teach us to trust in Your timing and wisdom. Use us as instruments of Your kingdom to bring light, love, and truth into the lives of those around us. May we live in obedience to Your Word and reflect Your will in all we do.

Praying the Request
Father, we come to You with open hands and humble hearts, asking for Your provision. Meet our needs today, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. You are our Provider, and we trust in Your ability to supply abundantly more than we could ask or imagine. Teach us to rely on You for everything and to recognize Your hand at work in our lives. Fill us with gratitude for Your daily bread and help us to share Your blessings with others.

Praying for Forgiveness
Gracious Lord, we humbly confess our sins before You. Forgive us for the ways we have fallen short of Your glory. Cleanse us from selfishness, pride, and any sin that hinders our relationship with You. Help us to extend forgiveness to others as You have so generously forgiven us. Heal the wounds in our hearts caused by unforgiveness, and teach us to walk in the freedom of grace. May our lives reflect the mercy we have received from You.

Praying for Protection
Almighty God, shield us from the temptations and trials that threaten to draw us away from You. Strengthen us to resist the schemes of the enemy, and keep us rooted in Your Word and truth. Protect us from harm—both seen and unseen—and guard our minds from fear and doubt. Surround us with Your presence and give us courage to walk boldly in faith. Deliver us from evil and remind us that You are our refuge and fortress in times of trouble.

Praise and Worship
We glorify You, Lord, for the gift of prayer and the promise that You hear us when we call. You are the God who provides for our needs, forgives our sins, and protects us from harm. We lift our hearts in worship, declaring that You are good, and Your mercy endures forever. May our lives bring honor to Your name as we live in the joy of Your presence. To You alone be all praise, honor, and glory, now and forever. Amen.
