21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

Day 11 | January 18

Scripture Reading | Acts 8:14-17

14 When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. 15 When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Scriptural Prayer

Praise and Worship
Sovereign Lord, we honor You for the expansion of Your Church and the fulfillment of Your promise to send the Holy Spirit. Your wisdom orchestrates the growth of Your kingdom across the earth, and Your power is manifested in the lives of believers.

Praying God’s Will
Father, as the apostles in Jerusalem sent Peter and John to Samaria, may Your Church today be unified and intentional in supporting each other, that all may receive the fullness of Your Spirit.

Praying the Request
We pray, O God, that we, like those early believers in Samaria, would receive the Holy Spirit. Where there is any lack, send faithful servants filled with Your power to lay hands and pray, that we might be equipped for Your service.

Praying for Forgiveness
Forgive us, Father, for any divisions or lack of faith that may hinder the work of Your Spirit among us. Forgive us for not seeking the empowerment of Your Spirit as earnestly as we ought.

Praying for Protection
Protect Your Church from disunity and doubt. May the same Spirit that moved in Samaria strengthen and unify Your people in every place. Guard us against any barriers that would prevent the full work of Your Spirit in our midst.

Praise and Worship
We praise You, God of all, for You are working in every nation, tribe, and tongue. We worship You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, which You pour out generously on all who believe. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
