21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

Day 2 | January 9

Scripture Reading | Luke 4:1-2

1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.

Scriptural Prayer

Praise and Worship
Heavenly Father, Your majesty is beyond comprehension and Your power is infinite. In the wilderness, Your Spirit led Jesus, and in our own deserts, You are with us. Your guidance is our assurance, and Your presence is our strength.

Praying God’s Will
Lord, just as Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, we humbly ask to be guided by Your Spirit in every trial we face. May we emerge from our wilderness experiences fortified in spirit and closer to You, just as Christ did. Your will be our purpose and Your wisdom our guide.

Praying the Request
Father, in times of testing, grant us the strength that Jesus had. Help us to fast from the distractions of this world and to focus on Your Word and Your will. When we are tempted, remind us of Your truths and help us to stand firm in faith and obedience.

Praying for Forgiveness
Forgive us, O God, for the times we have given into temptation. For the moments we have relied on our own strength rather than Yours, we ask for Your forgiveness. Teach us to forgive others as You have forgiven us, and lead us in the path of righteousness.

Praying for Protection
Protect us, Lord, from the wiles of the enemy. As Jesus overcame temptation by the power of Your Word, equip us to do the same. Shield our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and help us to walk in the Spirit, not gratifying the desires of the flesh.

Praise and Worship
We worship You, Lord, for You are holy and just. Your Word stands forever, and by it, we are guided and guarded. To You be all glory and honor, through Jesus Christ, who withstood the desert's test for our sake. Amen.
