21 Days of Fasting and Prayer
Day 3 | January 10
Scripture Reading | Luke 4:16:-20
16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, 17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” 20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
Scriptural Prayer
Praise and Worship
Heavenly Father, Your knowledge encompasses all things, and Your truth reaches to the deepest parts of our being. In worship, we acknowledge Your omniscience and the grace that Jesus showed at the well with the Samaritan woman, speaking truth into her life.
Praying God’s Will
Lord, You call us to live in truth and spirit. As the Samaritan woman was led to confront the realities of her life, guide us to see ourselves through Your eyes. Help us to embrace the truth of the gospel, which frees us from the shadows of our past.
Praying the Request
Almighty God, please give us the courage to face our own truths as You reveal them to us. Just as Jesus gently led the woman to acknowledge her life, lead us to acknowledge ours so that we may find redemption and living water in Him.
Praying for Forgiveness
Forgive us, Father, for the times we have hidden from our truths, avoided Your call, and lived in denial of our own sins. Forgive us for not seeking the living water that Jesus offers. Teach us to forgive others and to seek forgiveness where we have wronged.
Praying for Protection
Protect our hearts from deceit, O God, and shield us from the enemy's lies. May we, like the woman at the well, find our protection in the truth of Your Word and the salvation that comes from Jesus Christ.
Praise and Worship
We praise You, God, for the gift of Your Son, who is the way, the truth, and the life. Your love is perfect, and Your truth sets us free. We honor You for the living water that quenches our deepest thirst and for the Spirit that leads us into all truth. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
