7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
Scriptural Prayer
Praise and Worship
Most High God, we praise You for Your sovereign plan and timing, which are perfect in every way. You are the Alpha and Omega, who has set times and seasons by Your own authority. We worship You as Lord over all creation and history.
Praying God’s Will
Father, just as You told the apostles that it is not for them to know the times or dates You have set by Your own authority, we submit to Your divine timeline. Help us to focus not on when Your promises will be fulfilled, but on the mission You have given us.
Praying the Request
Empower us, Lord, with the Holy Spirit, just as You promised Your disciples. May we be Your witnesses in our homes, our communities, and to the ends of the earth. We ask for boldness and clarity to share Your love and Your truth with all.
Praying for Forgiveness
Forgive us, O God, when we become impatient with Your timing or when we neglect the great commission You have entrusted to us. Forgive us for sometimes looking too much to the skies for Your return and too little to the fields ready for harvest.
Praying for Protection
Protect our hearts from doubt and our minds from confusion. Guard us against discouragement and keep us steadfast in the purpose You have set before us.
Praise and Worship
We lift our eyes to You, Lord Jesus, who ascended to heaven and will come back in the same way. Until that day, we will praise Your name and carry out Your work, empowered by the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
