21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

Day 8 | January 15

Scripture Reading  | Acts 2:1-4

1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Scriptural Prayer

Praise and Worship
Almighty God, we exalt You for the day of Pentecost, when You poured out Your Holy Spirit on the disciples. We stand in awe of Your power displayed through the roaring wind and tongues of fire. You are the God who fulfills promises and empowers Your people.

Praying God’s Will
Father, just as the disciples gathered in one place on Pentecost, unite us in purpose and spirit. May Your Church be marked by unity and anticipation for the movement of Your Spirit in our time and in our lives.

Praying the Request
Lord, we humbly ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit upon us. Fill us anew, that we might speak Your word with boldness and demonstrate Your love and power to all those we encounter.

Praying for Forgiveness
Forgive us, Father, for the times we have quenched the Spirit or not sought Your presence with wholehearted devotion. Forgive us for moments of disunity or discord that hinder Your Spirit’s work among us.

Praying for Protection
Protect us from the distractions and divisions of the enemy. May Your Spirit guide us into all truth and keep us united in our mission and purpose.

Praise and Worship
We worship You, Spirit of the living God, for descending upon the believers and remaining with us to this day. Your presence is our comfort and Your power our strength. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
