21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

Day 9 | January 16

Scripture Reading  | Acts 2:38-41

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” 40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Scriptural Prayer

Praise and Worship
Heavenly Father, we praise You for the gift of repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. You are a God of salvation, offering us new life through the Holy Spirit. Your grace is boundless, and Your mercy is new every morning.

Praying God’s Will
Lord, Your command through the apostle Peter to repent and be baptized reflects Your desire for all to come to the knowledge of truth. Help us to embrace Your call to repentance and to receive the Holy Spirit, that we may walk in newness of life.

Praying the Request
We ask, O God, for the courage to share the gospel as Peter did, leading others to the waters of baptism and the gift of the Holy Spirit. May our lives bear witness to the transformation You offer, and may we be agents of Your grace.

Praying for Forgiveness
Forgive us, Father, for times we have resisted Your Spirit and neglected Your call to repentance. Forgive us for not always being willing to declare Your truths boldly or live them out authentically in our daily lives.

Praying for Protection
Protect us from the temptations that lead us away from You, and fortify our hearts against the lure of sin. Keep us steadfast in our faith and resilient in our commitment to follow You.

Praise and Worship
We give You thanks, Lord, for the thousands who accepted Your word and were baptized, and for those who continue to come to You through faith. We rejoice in the promise of the Holy Spirit and the assurance of being part of Your Church. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
